SALARY REQUIREMENTSÂ
Candidates are invited to submit their salary expectations along with their application. The compensation for this role will be competitive and is aligned with industry standards, taking into consideration factors such as experience, education, and geographic location. The base salary range for this position is $127,000 to $206,000 (USD), exclusive of any discretionary bonuses and benefits.Â
JOB DESCRIPTIONÂ
MissionEdge Technologies seeks a skilled Linux based System Administrator (SA-2) to support a small development team with the management and sustainment of a United States Intelligence community (USIC) mission capability. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with the development team, capabilities providers, and mission customers to migrate existing applications and services off legacy hardware and onto enterprise computer frameworks. Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.Â
Essential Job Functions:Â
Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems Â

Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems Â

Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning Â
Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process Â
Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems Â
Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance Â
Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated ticketsÂ
Minimum Required Qualifications:Â
Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.  Â
Active TS/SCI w/ polygraphÂ
Willingness / ability to pivot between tasks as needed (following mission or leadership requests)Â
Ten (10) years’ experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Â
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.Â
System Administrator (SA-2) with experience in the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and services for USIC customer.Â
Management of virtual and cloud environments.Â
Collaborate with SW development team to deploy, test, monitor, and operate customer applications and services.Â
Collaborate with Information System Security Engineer and Officers (ISSE/O) to conduct. patching and configuration changes required to maintain existing System Security Plans (SSP).Â
Proven knowledge and experience with Enterprise RedHat Linux, IT System Operations, Kubernetes, Cloud frameworks, and containerization required.Â
Knowledge of Sun Sparc & Solaris, and Microsoft Windows applications is a plus.Â
Working Conditions:Â
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.Â

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.Â
